Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, college degree in a related field, or between 30 and 60 university credits.
  • Valid teaching credentials preferred.
  • Experience working with children and students preferred.

  • Ability to follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background/Vulnerable Sector check.

Title: AGS Supply Teacher

Accountable to: Listuguj Education Directorate

Summary of Function: Alaqsite’w Gitpu School is seeking energetic innovative individuals for position of supply Teacher. Supply teachers have the same teaching responsibilities including teaching students, grading their work and providing feedback on their academic performance. Individuals are to follow the staff policy and procedure handbook.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising students in and out of the classroom, playground, cafeteria, and hall areas.
  • Following the regular Teacher’s plan to foster optimal learning and student engagement.
  • Managing classroom effectively to encourage a positive learning environment
  • Provide classwork and homework assignments based on the available lesson plan.
  • Adapting teaching methods to ensure every student needs are met.
  • Developing lesson plans and marking assignments.
  • Leaves notes for the regular teacher at the end of the teaching day.
  • Communicate in a professional manner towards parents/ guardians, students, and administrators.
  • Keep records on attendance, accidents, and incidents.
  • Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Always ensures the safety of students.
  • Attending parent-teacher conferences for long term supply positions.
