This role introduces a chance to shape the future of Global Operations and Marketing Technology by connecting business needs with execution. As the AEM Cloud Tech Lead, you’ll play a critical role in driving the technical delivery and adoption of a global platform as part of a broader customer experience and digital transformation. You’ll collaborate closely with Engineering, Architecture, UX/UI, Security, and Digital teams to support AEM Cloud development. This position offers exposure to global strategies, hands‑on involvement in product development, and the chance to enhance user experience and operational efficiency across Manulife!

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of AEM Cloud-based digital experiences across full-stack components
  • Develop AEM Cloud Components and Templates based on the front end designs, databases, APIs and server-side logic while maintaining both front and back-end web applications’ components
  • Inform scalable and secure AEM Cloud architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, performance benchmarks, and business goals
  • Apply disciplined coding practices to enable agility and delivery of high-quality code
  • Apply design patterns, automation, and semantic versioning where and when available
  • Adopt development frameworks and third-party libraries
  • Conduct a wide range of tests and analysis to ensure software application meets or exceeds standards, and end-user requirements
  • Develop detailed system design specifications to serve as a guide for system/program development
  • Assist in crafting automated test harnesses to ensure the development of outstanding code
  • Perform various investigative "Spikes" to mitigate technical uncertainty and risk;
  • Fix errors, help in resolving bugs, and improve the overall efficiency of the software
  • Engage in ideation and brainstorming sessions to compose inventive and exciting digital solutions
  • Complete any required documentation e.g., deployment, maintenance, support and business needs
  • Understand CI/CD methods, API development, DevSecOps , and cloud-native database design
  • Perform peer reviews of code / deliverables and analysis for continuous learning and continuous improvement
  • Mentor developers and contribute to the growth of technical capabilities within the team
  • Stay informed about the newest Adobe AEM Cloud updates, new technologies, and industry trends to guide strategic decisions
Required Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience with Adobe AEM as a Cloud Service, including component development, template creation, and integration with enterprise systems
  • Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for AEM projects using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc. along with other back-end and front-end technologies
  • Familiarity with Adobe I/O, AEM as a Cloud Service APIs, and integrating third-party services into AEM
  • Familiarity and understanding of other Adobe products and tools
  • Understand how to develop architectural designs for applications
  • Experience with performance optimization, scalability planning, and disaster recovery strategies in cloud‑native environments
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Understands how to find and reuse patterns and platforms in the organization’s ecosystem and the broader community
  • Proficient knowledge of security guidelines in cloud environments, encompassing identity management, access control, and data protection
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO Design with solid programming skills
  • Experience with automated code scanning and quality gates using tools like SonarQube integrated into AEM pipelines
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools
  • Capability to lead technical discussions and collaborate with multi-functional teams across global regions
  • Hands‑on Java development for AEM Cloud including Sling Models, OSGi services, servlets, and custom workflow steps
  • Experience building reusable frontend components using JavaScript/TypeScript within an Enterprise Design System (EDS) framework
  • Ability to bridge backend AEM services with frontend EDS components for seamless authoring and user experience
  • Proficiency in debugging and optimizing Java code in AEM Cloud environments through the use of CRXDE Lite, Logs, and AEM Developer Console

Salary range is expected to be between

$110,530.00 CAD - $205,270.00 CAD
