Job summary

A leading staffing agency in Canada seeks a skilled Accounts Receivable Supervisor to manage and mentor the AR team. You will handle billing issues and maintain financial records while ensuring compliance with procedures and policies. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of accounts receivable experience and a degree in finance or accounting. About the Opportunity
  • Supervise, train, and mentor Accounts Receivable staff

Assign tasks, monitor workload, and ensure timely completion of all accounts receivable activities.

Serve as the primary escalation point for complex billing issues or payment disputes.

Oversee accurate and up-to-date record maintenance within the Accounts Receivable system for all financial transactions related to accounts receivable.

Ensure staff follow proper procedures for data entry, reconciliation, and documentation as it pertains to company policy.

Supervise the maintenance of accurate subsidy records within the Accounts Receivable system.

Ensure subsidy claim forms are properly submitted by site directors and match our billing records while ensuring that collections from government bodies occur in a timely manner.

Oversee proactive follow-up on overdue accounts and outstanding balances.

Support staff in contacting site directors to address payment inquiries, resolve disputes, and arrange payment plans when necessary.

Review and approve financial reports and summaries related to accounts receivable, including aging reports and revenue analysis, before submission to management.

Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing and reviewing accounts receivable listings for the Controller.

Collaborate with the childcare center's administrative team and finance department to ensure smooth communication and accurate financial reporting.

Foster a cooperative team environment within the accounts receivable department.

Ensure adherence to childcare center policies, financial procedures, and privacy regulations to maintain the integrity of financial operations and safeguard sensitive information.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounts receivable operations.

Recommend policy updates to improve collection procedures and reporting accuracy.

About You

Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (preferred).

Proven experience in accounts receivable, with at least 5 years of work experience

Strong proficiency in financial record-keeping and relevant software (e.g., spreadsheets, accounting software).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with staff and site directors.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Strong problem-solving skills to resolve billing disputes and outstanding balances tactfully.

Salary Range
75,000 - $80,000 / year
