We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our professional team as an Accounting Analyst at our Head Office located in Mississauga, ON.

Overview

Job Scope

You will be reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor. As part of the various accounting duties, you will be preparing and managing monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and overseeing financial activities. Additional responsibilities will include analysis of financial information to determine present and future financial performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Diligently prepare various balance sheet account reconciliations, obtain the necessary detailed transactions, and investigate and correct reconciling items.
  • Utilize analytical review techniques when reviewing journal entries, account activity, and account reconciliations, to ensure accurate reporting by identifying discrepancies or errors.
  • Manage the accounting for fixed assets, including but not limited to creating fixed assets in the sub ledger, calculating and applying depreciation, ensuring accuracy of the schedule and reconciling the fixed asset in progress account.
  • Preparing various monthly financial reports and adhoc reports that support business decisions.
  • Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and annual close process in accordance with company requirements.
  • Ensure that the appropriate accounting and internal control policies, procedures and practices are implemented to enable the preparation of financial statements.
  • Be a key contributor and support new projects that add value to the organization.
  • Respond to internal or external requests or inquiries.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Qualifications and Requirements :
  • Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in finance or accounting focusing on reconciliation.
  • Previous experience in a related field, and knowledge of rental construction equipment is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel & Power BI.
  • Prior experience with Blackline will be an asset.
  • Proficient with full-cycle accounting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.
  • Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to apply a high level of accuracy and be very detailed oriented.
