This is a facility and program support role focused on providing customer experiences within recreation facilities. An incumbent performs basic set-up of program spaces, monitors facility use, cleanliness and customer activities, daily facility reservations and provides front line customer service including but not limited to supplying information to the public, program registration and support to groups booking facility spaces. Employees in this class process payments including but not limited to processing payments for program registrations, admissions, pass sales and other revenues. The work is performed in accordance with clearly defined policies and procedures and is evaluated by a supervisor on the basis of accuracy and quality of customer service provided to the public.

Responsibilities
- Responds to inquiries and provides factual information and assistance to the public regarding programs, facility bookings and services.
- Supports the set-up of program spaces based on the daily facility bookings and emerging day to day facility needs; sets up tables, chairs, displays, banners, other furniture and equipment for scheduled events or activities and removes on completion.
- Utilizes registration software to support customers with their facility bookings and inquiries; receives and processes sales and registrations and maintains records related to transactions.
- Performs clerical duties including data entry, maintaining routine records and statistical data collection.
- Maintains the daily facility booking sheets and communications between the facilities and customer service teams.
- Monitors facility use cleanliness and customer activities; and maintains the work area in a tidy and presentable manner.
- Performs first aid duties as required.
- Represents the City and the Department in a positive professional and customer friendly manner.
- Performs related work as required.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by courses in customer service and conflict resolution and previous experience in a front-line customer service role including cash handling and point of sales system; or a combination of training and experience.
- Occupational First Aid Level I.
- Sound knowledge of the facility booking process, recreation programs, services and the registration processes.
- Working knowledge of policies and procedures governing the work.
- Ability to meet and deal effectively with the public in providing information and assistance on program registrations and activities as related to the work performed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensures the safekeeping of customer information and tenders.
- Ability to respond to public inquiries in person and through a variety of media.
- Ability to maintain a variety of records related to the work.
- Ability to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups in providing factual information and assistance in a professional and calm manner.
- Ability to operate modern office equipment including a computer terminal, point of sales system and other software applications related to the work performed.
- Ability to set up, move and lift equipment.
- Ability to attend to first aid incidents.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy atmosphere.
