Job summary

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. in São Paulo seeks a Trade Analyst to monitor, analyze, and report on market share, utilization and pricing, supporting the sales team with data-driven insights.

You will maintain trade databases, tariff pricing, and forecasting metrics, tracking bookings against forecasts and budgets. A 1–2 year background in trade roles with strong Excel skills is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• 1-2 years’ experience in trade positions or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel including formulas, lookups and Pivot Tables.
• Shipping industry experience is an advantage.

Main purpose of the role:
This position holds the responsibility of monitoring, analyzing, trend reporting, and pricing. Monitoring market share, utilization, and customer performance.
Major areas of responsibility:

Main Tasks:

• Assist in managing trade documents, such as DTLI tracker, revenue reports, pipeline, and actual performance monitoring vs. budget & sales target.
• Maintain market share data / competition analysis and customer performance on a weekly basis and advise outliers to the trade team.
• Maintain trade databases and reporting tools.
• Maintain Tariff Database pricing system – tariff FMC and Non-FMC. Update on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Forecast monitoring vs bookings vs actuals tracking.
• System Quality check, to ensure that country/district follow though company’s best practices related to auto-freight and timely bookings.
• Review HIVE rules and set up
• Update Booking Tool parameters
• Late gate and space approval
• Analysis of country/branch performance & management of improvements initiatives.
• Work in conjunction with Sales to implement and measure business plan and trade’s policy.
• Monitor performance and implementation of actions with countries
• Review, researching, and responding to emails and formal correspondence from the business unit, account owners, and customers
• Liaison with other areas, branches.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
• 1-2 years’ experience in trade positions or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet, Data Manipulation, Formulas, Lookups, Pivot Tables, Etc.
• Shipping industry experience is an advantage.
