Overview

The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Speechify’s text-to-speech products turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio to help people read faster, read more, and remember more. Our products include the iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome extension, and Web app. Speechify has been recognized for excellence (Chrome Extension of the Year and App of the Day).

We are a 100% distributed team with nearly 200 people worldwide, including frontend and backend engineers, AI researchers, and colleagues from major tech companies and universities. This is a key role for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, and is passionate about building great user experiences that delight users. We value work ethic, clear communication, and a focus on results.

Our interview process involves several technical interviews and we aim to complete them within 1 week.

What You’ll Do

• Actively ship production code to the web products
• Work closely with your dedicated product team
• Participate in product discussions to shape the product roadmap
• Have the opportunity to work on new and exciting features that will impact millions of lives

• Speed: Ability to generate ideas quickly and decide what can ship now vs. what requires more time
• Focus: Comfortable in a high-growth startup with a remote, busy team
• Collaboration: Ability to inspire, collaborate with, and negotiate with designers, marketers, and PMs
• Tech Stack: Vanilla JS, ReactJS, Redux, Firebase, TypeScript
