Your role will involve managing AWS and on-prem environments, automating tasks with Python and Ansible, and ensuring application deployments on Kubernetes. Systems Engineer (Fully Remote)

We’re looking for a Systems Engineer to help build, automate, and support development and test environments across a large-scale platform. You’ll play a key role in designing, deploying, and optimising cloud and on-prem environments that support critical applications from build through to production support.

What you’ll do

• Build and manage development & test environments across on-prem and AWS platforms
• Automate infrastructure and platform tasks using Python, Ansible, and Flux
• Deploy and support applications on Kubernetes (including Helm-based deployments)
• Ensure seamless system integration, reliability, performance, and security
• Monitor platforms and applications, implementing automated testing and health checks
• Troubleshoot complex platform and deployment issues
• Collaborate closely with development and operations teams

What you’ll bring

• Strong automation and scripting experience with Python
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerised platforms
• Experience deploying applications using Helm
• Understanding of JSON and its relationship to YANG
• Solid grasp of cyber security principles and compliance
• Foundational networking knowledge
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Experience with tools/technologies such as Kafka, Elastic stack, Redis, MongoDB, Postgres
• AWS services including EKS, Lambda, Cognito, API Gateway
• Network and infrastructure tooling (NetBox, Juniper, Cisco, MinIO)
• Testing frameworks such as Behave or Robot Framework
