What You’ll Do

As the Card Risk Lead, you will manage a mission-critical team central to the Credit Card, Sunbit’s flagship product, that is responsible for developing and implementing Sunbit's core risk management strategies. Leading a dynamic team of backend engineers and AI/ML specialists, your contributions will directly impact Sunbit’s key performance indicators and overall success.

This position is both strategic and hands-on, involving the architecture and implementation of scalable systems that power the core financial risk of the Card product.

Among your key responsibilities, you will lead a highly skilled team that architects and builds scalable systems that detect and mitigate financial risks in real time.

• Work closely with the business and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI/ML engineers, product managers, analysts, and other engineering squads, to align risk management strategies with business goals.
• Proactively maintain the stability, security, and adaptability of the financial risk management systems.
• Leverage data analysis and insights to ensure alignment with the company’s growth and evolving business needs.
• Respond quickly and proactively to emerging trends, delivering fast, impactful solutions that protect the product's financial success.

Requirements

• B.Sc in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience managing a team (preferably 3+ years) and leading projects hands-on from start to finish (preferably 8+ years, focusing on system architecture).
• Proficiency in modern system architecture with large-scale and high performance.
• Impact driven - use data to make sure every task moves the needle and utilize your resources to maximize the team's impact.
• Team player, with strong communication skills and someone who thrives working in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative, solution-oriented, and able to maintain a ‘can do’ attitude, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and uncertainty. Adapt quickly to changing business needs.
• Passion for data.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Fluent in English.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with software development in Python.
• Experience with cloud technology.
• Experience in managing data specialists (AI/ML engineers, analysts).
