Description

Our client is a U.S.-based consulting organization working with Fortune 500 and high-growth companies across multiple industries.

They are launching several high-impact AI initiatives and need a Data Analyst who operates with a Business Analyst mindset - someone who knows data, but also communicates clearly, works cross-functionally, and is comfortable driving conversations with stakeholders. This role is not heavy engineering.

It's about data groundwork, process clarity, structured documentation, and ensuring clean, complete inputs for an upcoming ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) module implementation. Responsibilities

• Data Collection & Cleansing: Gather and prepare data from Excel, SharePoint Lists, shadow IT systems, and other sources to support the SAM module and AI training datasets.
• Source Data Validation: Validate accuracy, completeness, and consistency of datasets using ServiceNow import / export tools and other profiling methods.
• Shadow IT Identification: Document and collect data from shadow IT systems to build a complete inventory for Application Portfolio Management and SAM.
• Application Cataloging: Define metadata and attribute requirements for initial application catalog creation within the SAM module.
• Requirements Gathering: Lead focused sessions with IT, Finance, Asset Management, and other stakeholders to capture business rules, compliance logic, and reporting needs.
• AI Ticketing Data Requirements: Specify structure, quality, and volume requirements for historical ticket data used to train an AI Ticketing Agent.
• Data Flow & Mapping: Build source-to-target mappings and transformation logic to ensure alignment with master data definitions.
• Platform Stabilization: Support early build-out, testing, and stabilization of new ServiceNow data modules before transitioning ownership to the internal team.

Requirements

• 5+ years as a data analyst, who knows data and can communicate clearly.
• Strong proficiency in Excel for manual data prep.
• Experience building clear diagrams and workflows in Lucidchart (or similar tools).
• Ability to move fast, work proactively, and take ownership in a results‑driven environment.
• Experience with SQL, Power BI, or other data tools.
• Experience with ServiceNow import / export or data profiling.
• Excellent skills in business process documentation, requirements writing, and structured communication.
• Strong capability to lead requirements sessions and translate business needs into clear data specifications.
• Understanding of data relationships, attributes, and hygiene - even if you’re not writing complex code daily.
• Exceptional communication skills for documentation, presentations, and cross‑functional knowledge transfer.
