Responsibilities
  • Leads the region's management team in the design of the regional People Strategy, aligned with the Global Cat Financial People Strategy.
  • Works closely with the Managing Directors in the region, Country Managers, and HR team to develop and execute the goals of the People Strategy in attracting, engaging, developing, and retaining the right and diverse talent.
  • Keeps the Vice President of the region appraised of the HR issues arising at various facilities and their impact on the business and propose action plans to be undertaken to resolve them.
  • Leads the region's HR Consultants in the day-to-day administration and implementation of HR practices, policies and activities aligned with the Cat Financial and Cat Inc.'s global HR practices and policies.
  • Collaborates with the HR staffs of other Cat Inc. business units in the region to best utilize the HR Shared Services model to promote a healthy exchange of qualified talent.
  • Collaborates with the Cat Financial Compensation and Benefits staff to ensure access to good market intelligence to keep the local compensation and benefits packages competitive.
  • Collaborates with the Cat Financial Global Learning Team to ensure the proper and timely implementation of learning initiatives and talent development programs.
  • Assists in the regional business and organization transformation by championing change management.
  • Collaborates with the Cat Financial Talent Acquisition Team to ensure the effective implementation of recruitment and succession planning global initiatives.
  • Collaborates with the Cat Financial Employee Relations staff and Legal team to ensure proper implementation of company policies, procedures, and practices, as well as employment laws and governmental regulations.
  • Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department.
  • Participates in the identification of problem areas and the development of resolutions to address them.
  • Understands the Equal Opportunity and Harassment policies of the company, applies them in all aspects of management and maintains an environment, which is consistent with these policies.
Qualifications
  • Education: College degree
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience, including 4 years of managerial experience.
  • Language: Pre Advanced English and Pre Advanced Spanish; Portuguese is also required.
  • Behavioral skills: Proven ability to work independently, maintain a regional and global perspective, interact with upper management, supervise others, manage time and priorities, comply with labor laws and governmental regulations in the Latin America region, develop, implement and maintain HR programs and effectively communicate them to employees.
  • Travel: 15% to 20% traveling to the Latin America region is required.
  • Desirable: MBA.
