A leading engineering company in São Paulo is seeking a Project Quality Engineer to oversee Quality Assurance in design, procurement, and manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will have a degree in Engineering and relevant experience in Quality Management. Responsibilities include verifying compliance with quality standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and participating in project meetings. Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are essential. Occasional business travel (~20%) is expected.
PROJECT QUALITY ENGINEER Reports to : Quality Coordinator Role Summary - Assists with the interpretation of project-specific Quality Assurance requirements, verifies Quality Assurance plan implementation, and evaluates effectiveness by audits and assessments.
Key tasks of the Position Reviews customers' specifications, further legal / statutory requirements (Q related) and compare to industries standards aiming to identify main relationships and differences (if any), ensure proper requirements' management and compliance.
Reviews / issues project-specific Quality Plans and documentation (e.g. : Inspection & Test Plans, etc).
Supports, facilitates, reviews and releases project-specific Design & Process FMEAs, verification and validation reports, ensuring proper method application, risk analysis & classification, actions definition and their implementation.
Ensure project lessons learned (positive and negative) are produced and management system changes are implemented, as necessary.
Supports the development of project-specific sourcing & manufacturing strategies and schedules, ensuring that all relevant quality activities and requirements are considered and consistent to the strategies.
Participates on key project related meetings (e.g. : Design reviews) providing quality related input; Ensure through process audits & verifications (e.g., at Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Field Services) and based on project-specific data analysis that quality is being incorporated in processes.
Drives, supports, and facilitates continuous improvement activities (e.g., at Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Field Services) based on project-specific data analysis.
Performs Technical Committee meetings prior components' release for shipping.
Supports, review and releases the Project-specific Quality Data book Monitor the Project Quality Budget and to inform the Project Manager and the Project Quality Coordinator accordingly (eg compliance with Sales Forecast value; proceeding in case of deviations).
Additional responsabilities Supports, on demand and based on his / her capabilities, Quality department's tasks & priorities defined by the Quality Engineering Coordinator & Head of Quality Occasional Business Trips : ~ 20% of time Decision-Making Powers Full empowerment for rejection or blockage of processes and / or components when those are not compliant to the expected Quality requirements.
Power of tasks assignment (e.g. : start of a problem-solving activity) based on project-specific data analysis EMPLOYEE PROFILE Professional Experience & Education Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Material, as applicable) or equivalent.
Postgraduate in Business Administration (desirable).
Relevant work experience in Quality Management & Quality Engineering.
Relevant professional experience and knowledge in business processes as well as in non-quality functions like Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, Purchasing.
Certified Lead Auditor (e.g. ISO and ISO ) (desirable).
Qualification in electrical and / or, dimensional and / or, NDT testing (desirable).
Specific Skills & Knowledge (Ex : Language, IT skills) Practical knowledge in using IT-tools : SharePoint, SAP, MS Office, database tracking programs.
Good Lean Management background is an advantage.
Management and communication skills (incl. but not limited to interpersonal, listening, verbal, written, didactic and presentation).
English fluent, written and spoken (additional languages are an advantage).
Strong analytical expertise as well as result-oriented, solution driven (pragmatic) and customer oriented working principle.
Experienced and willingness to work and cooperate in cross functional teams
