Post-doctoral positions are available at University of São Paulo's Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics, and Atmospheric Sciences (IAG-USP) in Brazil, within the Plasma Astrophysics and High Energy group (GAPAE).

The aim is to conduct research on high-energy and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) phenomena in astrophysical systems, from stars and compact objects to clusters of galaxies and large-scale structures. This involves the application of analytical and numerical techniques using high-performance computing, as well as active involvement in the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) and ASTRI Mini-Array.

Special attention will be given to studies on cosmic ray accelerators, gamma-ray emission, cosmic magnetic fields, turbulent diffuse media, compact objects, relativistic jets, and accretion flows, as well as to the preparation of scientific programs for the CTAO and ASTRI Mini-Array. Candidates with experience in any of these fields, as well as familiarity with MHD and PIC codes, are strongly encouraged to apply.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. Each selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 12,570.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
