POSITION OVERVIEW

CHS is seeking a visionary Senior Accounting Manager to oversee accounting functions for Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.

This leader will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, compliance with BRGAAP, IFRS, US GAAP, and CHS policies, and address differences between these standards.

The role demands a technical expert in accounting, a mentor for team development, and an innovator in process improvement.

We are looking for leaders who will elevate the Finance Leadership Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

People
  • Mentor, develop, and lead a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
  • Build organizational capacity within the team and initiate succession planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regional and global Finance, Tax, and Treasury, to ensure alignment and support talent development.
Processes
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, BR GAAP, and CHS policies.
  • Manage and address the GAAP differences between US GAAP, IFRS, and BR GAAP to ensure accurate consolidation and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay, maintaining robust internal controls.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures tailored to regional and global standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including ERP system optimization and automation of accounting processes.
  • Lead the Audit Process with External Auditors.
Data & Tech
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence (BI) team to develop and enhance financial reporting and analytics.
  • Leverage advanced reporting tools, such as Power BI, to provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Support ERP Deployments (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA (Brazil, Argentina or Uruguay).
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • Industry experience in Agriculture, Energy, or a related sector.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and BR GAAP.
  • Proven experience reconciling and managing GAAP differences between accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Expertise in technical accounting, including consolidations, revenue recognition, leases, and head accounting.
  • Prior experience managing internal controls and ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish and / or Portuguese.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED)
  • Experience in process improvement initiatives and system implementations.
  • Green Belt or Lean Silver Certification.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other advanced analytics tools.
  • Ability to navigate and influence in a multicultural and cross-functional environment.
Summary : Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and manage a strong financial controls and accounting procedures environment.
  • Serve as a business partner to leaders to provide decision support enabling the attainment of business unit objectives.
  • Determine accounting policies and procedures that will facilitate accurate reporting for management and external financial statement users.
  • Lead the month-end / year-end closing process for assigned business.
