The role includes preparing weekly performance reports, maintaining documentation, and supporting continuous service improvements. Training will be provided; a diploma in logistics or related field is required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field in shipping.
  • No prior experience required; training will be provided.
  • Understanding of feeder shipping operations and container logistics is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customer focus.
  • Strong analytical skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Manage POL agent relationships to facilitate bookings and optimise vessel utilisation.
  • Analyse capacity and forecast to ensure optimal vessel capacity and adjust schedules.
  • Prepare weekly service performance reports and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate operational follow-up with POL, POD, DF and Operations teams; resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate shipping documentation and records of interactions and performance.

Job description

The Role

To manage assigned liner services to ensure schedule reliability, optimal capacity utilisation, cost control, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities
1. POL Agent Management
  • Collaborate with POL agents to facilitate container bookings and maximize vessel utilisation.
  • Monitor agent performance and resolve any issues related to booking and operational efficiency.
2. Capacity Management
  • Analyze booking trends and forecasts to ensure optimal vessel capacity.
  • Communicate with operations to adjust schedules based on capacity needs.
3. Weekly Service Performance Reporting
  • Prepare and distribute weekly service performance reports, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations for service enhancement.
4. Operational Follow-up
  • Track ongoing service operation matters and follow up on outstanding issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to address any operational challenges affecting service delivery.
  • Work closely with Port of Loading (POL), Port of Discharge (POD), Direct Freight (DF), and Operations teams on ongoing service operations.
5. Documentation and Record Keeping
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all shipping documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of customer interactions, service performance, and agent communications.
6. Financial Oversight
  • Compile Profit and Loss (P&L) statements once vessels depart from the last port to the Trade department.
  • Maintain up-to-date P&L and follow up on any invoice discrepancies with overseas offices until resolved, providing updates to the marketing/trade team.
7. Continuous Improvement
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to identify opportunities for service improvement.
  • Participate in regular meetings with teams to discuss performance, capacity issues, and customer feedback.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field in shipping
  • No experience is required, training will be provided.
  • Understanding of feeder shipping operations and container logistics is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
