Jobtailor in São Paulo seeks an experienced Maritime Operations Specialist to optimize vessel performance, manage chartering activities, and ensure regulatory compliance across time charter and spot employment.

You will coordinate voyage orders, review freight calculations, monitor demurrage and laytime, and collaborate with owners, brokers, and the finance team to ensure timely payments and cost-effective operations.

Qualificações

• Experience in maritime operations and chartering is preferred.

• Ensure the efficient execution of post-fixture vessel operations, ensuring contractual compliance, cost optimization, and regulatory compliance
• Ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations and proactively resolve issues
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational performance
• Monitor vessel performance during time charter (TC) or spot employment, ensuring efficiency and compliance with the TCE
• Liaise with owners, charterers, brokers, agents, and inspectors to coordinate voyage orders, itineraries, agency appointments, and inspections
• Review PDAs, FDAs, certificates, LOIs, LOPs, and other regulatory documents
• Consult with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely freight payments
• Support chartering processes, freight, demurrage, laytime, and claims calculations
• Track vessel departures, arrivals, and progress, product quality, port restrictions, and special regimes
• Keep systems updated with voyage, cost, and performance information
• Implement Safety and Environmental programs, analyzing performance indicators and reviewing management practices

Requirements

• 6-7 years of experience in the field
• Knowledge of maritime operations
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear communication and negotiation skills
• Proactive and adaptable approach
• Ability to collaborate across multiple departments
• Knowledge of chartering contracts and charter parties
• Knowledge of freight, demurrage, and laytime calculations, deviation, inter-port, war risk, and additional port expenses (per WS)
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and special regimes
• Experience with logistics management tools and ERP systems
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Naval Engineering, or a related field
• Advanced English proficiency for international negotiations
