Role Overview

The Country Manager / Head of HR – Brazil will be responsible for all HR, operational, and management matters related to the smooth running of Potentiam's Brazilian office.

This includes compliance with employment legislation, leadership of HR operations, talent management, and ensuring the consistent delivery of Potentiam's standards and values.

The role will also support business performance through strategic HR initiatives, client partnership, and continuous operational improvement.

You'll start supporting a small team of client employees, build foundations, establish operational excellence, and drive long‑term, scalable growth.

Experience Required

5–8 years of proven HR Management, HRBP, or Generalist experience within a fast‑paced, multinational or offshore environment.

Strong understanding of Brazilian labour laws and compliance requirements.

Experience working across multiple industries such as technology, finance, digital marketing, or data analytics.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Strong communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills.

Commercial acumen with a focus on cost‑effectiveness, productivity, and operational excellence.

Forward‑thinking and proactive, with a hands‑on approach and a strategic mindset.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure full compliance with Brazilian HR regulations and labour laws, staying informed of any legislative changes impacting employment costs or operations.

Manage employee legal matters (Potentiam and client staff) through to resolution, mitigating risks and maintaining positive outcomes.

Develop and maintain Career Plans for all staff, including current role, salary, and training needs, while supporting career progression in line with Potentiam's career structures.

Identify, design, and implement Learning & Development programs to support continuous employee growth and capability building.

Serve as the senior HR point of contact for all employees, providing support, coaching, and guidance on HR issues, performance, and personal challenges.

Partner with clients to ensure HR policies, performance management, and engagement strategies are aligned with both company and client expectations.

Country Management

Oversee all operations related to the Brazilian office, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day functioning and adherence to global standards.

Manage and monitor the annual office budget in collaboration with the Financial Director, ensuring costs are effectively controlled.

Manage contracts, facilities, and services to ensure efficient and cost‑effective operations.

Lead the recruitment, management, and retention of in‑country staff, ensuring timely appraisals and clear career pathways for all team members.

Act as the escalation point for HR and operational issues within Brazil, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with global leadership.

Operational Responsibilities

Ensure recruitment processes are followed correctly, including agreement of job specs, salary benchmarking, and assessment methods in line with company standards.

Oversee and support the Talent Acquisition team, ensuring it is appropriately sized, skilled, and following company processes.

Ensure the monthly HRBP process is run effectively, with "red flag" issues resolved promptly and systems (Amicus) updated on schedule.

Oversee salary reviews and appraisals for all client resources, ensuring timely completion and communication with clients.

Maintain a dashboard of company performance metrics, providing visibility into all operational areas and ensuring prompt action on any deviations.

Lead assigned projects to successful delivery, managing teams to meet objectives efficiently.

Ensure Potentiam staff comply with all technology usage and security policies, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.

Collaborate with the CTO / CIO to implement technology updates and security measures in Brazil, providing feedback on potential improvements.

Client Management Support

Partner with Client Relationship Directors to onboard new clients, contributing to HR strategy, hiring plans, and early‑stage success of offshore teams.

Conduct formal client reviews every 20 weeks to assess progress against the Offshoring Strategy Plan, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Adjust HR and hiring plans as needed to ensure client satisfaction and operational success throughout all stages of engagement.
