A leading international energy company in Rio de Janeiro is seeking a Chief Security Officer to lead security operations, advise management, and implement policies to protect employees and assets. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in risk management and crisis response. MISSIONS OF THE CHIEF SECURITY OFFICERGoal:The Country Security Officer, in full coordination with the Regional HUB Chief Security Officer, leads, coordinates, plans, implements, and organizes security-related activities for all Global Business Units and other Engie entities operating in his/her country or area of responsibility. He/she acts as the pivotal element for all security-related matters within his/her country or area, concerning both the Group and third parties collaborating with it. He/she cooperates with all interested parties and actively participates, within the framework of his/her functions, in protecting employees, infrastructures, and information against malicious acts by defining and implementing prevention and protection measures that mitigate security risks to an acceptable level.
OrganizationThe CS is appointed by the country managing director. Under the supervision of his/her manager, who may be a member of the board of directors of a GBU or Engie entity with significant security issues, the CS acts under the supervision of the Regional HUB Chief Security Officer (functional authority), to whom he/she reports directly for all security issues and logistical/financial aspects when support from the Regional HUB CSO is required. He/she must develop an annual or multi-year budget with the Regional HUB CSO to implement his/her activity plan.
He/she prepares objectives during year N for year N+1 with his/her manager, which are submitted for approval to the Regional HUB CSO, who may modify or prioritize them. Job description:Advise the country managing director and managers of GBUs or other Engie entities on security issues. Ensure deployment of the Group's security policy in his/her country and alignment of his/her security action plan with this policy and Group guidelines.
Maintain and develop liaison with all local Engie personnel, local administrations, and government/military agencies as necessary. Participate in bi-monthly security gatherings, transmit information to the Regional HUB CSO, and report notable events. Identify, monitor, and respond to threats to employees, assets, and facilities, providing alerts on immediate threats and emerging trends.
Monitor local regulations, technologies, threats, contribute to threat watches, and facilitate exchanges with relevant units. Implement physical protection measures (badges, cameras, alarms, locks) to ensure a secure environment for employees, including travel advisories for business travelers. Participate in protecting sensitive information, raise staff awareness, and contribute to information classification and investigation of leaks.
Prepare for security crises and participate in crisis management as needed. Participate in annual internal control exercises, identify gaps, and develop risk mitigation plans. Manage security aspects of major Group events, collaborating with the Regional HUB CSO as necessary.
Develop country-specific security policies, procedures, and plans in conjunction with the Regional HUB CSO, ensuring compliance with security rules and regulations. Conduct audits and due diligence on third-party security providers and subcontractors, sharing results with the Regional HUB CSO and DSIE.Collaborate with business developers to identify project-related risks.
