Jobtailor is seeking an experienced backup administrator in São Paulo to manage and optimize backup environments across on-premises and cloud (AWS) setups. You will ensure data integrity, security, and performance, conduct regular restore tests, and drive DR/HA initiatives.

Responsibilities include tool deployment, audits for ISO 27001 and other standards, automation of routine tasks, and collaboration with engineering and infra teams to improve resilience and efficiency.

Qualificações

Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, CS, or related field.

Responsabilidades

Administer, maintain, and monitor backup tools such as Commvault and NetBackup
Ensure the availability, integrity, security, and performance of backup environments
Perform monthly restore tests
Conduct predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on backup services
Implement and maintain backup tools in testing and production environments
Conduct backup audits for ISO 27001, PwC, EY, PQO, CVM, and other standards and institutions
Install, configure, and administer backup management systems
Analyze performance, tuning, indexes, queries, jobs, and backup/capacity planning
Define, implement, and test backup, restore, contingency, Disaster Recovery, and high-availability strategies
Support the bank's teams with restore requests using Commvault and NetBackup, following best practices and internal compliance requirements
Define and implement backup administration standards and physical backup models
Automate operational routines using scripts
Collaborate on cloud migration, modernization, and environment optimization projects, primarily in AWS
Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and development teams to propose technical improvements
Participate in continuous improvement, automation, resilience, and operational efficiency initiatives

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Strong experience, preferably more than 5 years, in backup administration
Proficiency in and/or practical experience with Commvault and NetBackup
Experience with highly critical, highly available, high-performance, and mission-critical environments
Knowledge of backup, restore, tuning, indexes, jobs, permissions, security, high availability, and disaster recovery
Experience with on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments
Familiarity with AWS, including RDS, EC2, and S3
Experience with or knowledge of migrating on-premises backups to the cloud
Knowledge of infrastructure architecture, operating systems, storage, and networks
Ability to analyze complex problems, propose technical solutions, and work collaboratively
Availability to work outside standard business hours according to the internal on-call rotation
Knowledge of SRE practices, Agile methodologies, or Agile engineering is a plus
Experience with automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or .NET is a plus
Experience designing, developing, or supporting cloud solutions is a plus
Experience with backup migration, resilience, scalability, and optimization projects is a plus
Experience in large-scale enterprise environments is a plus
Technical certifications in backup, cloud, infrastructure, AWS, or similar technologies are a plus
Advanced or fluent English is preferred
Advanced or fluent Spanish is preferred
