The role involves evaluating AI-generated Portuguese content for accuracy and quality, providing structured feedback, and collaborating with project leads. The ideal candidate will have native-level Portuguese proficiency, experience in language teaching or assessment, and strong English fluency. This is a remote position with a commitment of at least 15 hours per week, allowing for a fully asynchronous schedule.

Position

AI Language Expert — Portuguese

Type: Hourly contractor

Compensation: $25–$30/hour

Location: Remote

Duration

Commitment: Minimum 15 hours/week Schedule: Fully asynchronous, work on your own time Start Date: Rolling — applications reviewed as projects launch

Role Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Portuguese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality.
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre‑A1 through B2+.
• Apply expert judgment to identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps.
• Provide clear, structured feedback that improves AI tutoring and language‑learning models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts.
• Contribute to raising the overall quality and reliability of AI language instruction.

Qualifications

Must‑Have

• Native‑level proficiency in Portuguese.
• Experience teaching Portuguese or evaluating learner language.
• Fluency in English (C1/C2).
• Familiarity with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks.
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment.

Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience with language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing.
• Exposure to AI‑powered language tools or educational technology.
• Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows.
