Job summary

AECOM invites applications for a Technical Director with a strong Building Services background to lead, design and deliver major projects across Australia. The role blends technical leadership with client engagement, budgeting and business development.

You will report to the Sector Director and work across multidisciplinary teams, supporting growth and high-performing project delivery in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire/Hydraulics Engineering is required, with extensive experience in building services in Australia.
• Chartered Engineer and relevant registrations are highly regarded.
• Evidence of leadership in technical, project or business contexts is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical and design leadership across major Building Engineering projects, focusing on quality, programme, budget and client outcomes.
• Lead project teams and ensure successful delivery of a portfolio of projects.
• Engage with clients to understand needs, build relationships and deliver practical engineering solutions.
• Lead design management, technical reviews and project delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
• Support business development and work winning through client engagement, proposals and presentations.
• Identify opportunities to grow AECOM’s services with existing and new clients.
• Provide commercial oversight across budgets, pricing, contracts and project reviews.
