Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director level Electrical Engineer to lead a large Building Engineering team in Australia. Based in Sydney or Perth, you will manage multi-disciplinary building services engineers and modellers, delivering landmark projects across Australia and New Zealand.

You will provide technical leadership, governance, and foster innovation while ensuring compliance with Australian standards and client requirements. Strong leadership and stakeholder skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with 20+ years consultancy experience delivering complex building services projects.
• CPEng or eligible for Chartered status and state registration (RPEQ/RPEV).
• Deep knowledge of Australian codes, standards, and regulations for building services.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with clients and project teams.
• Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering high-profile projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary building projects across health, education, defence, transport, commercial, and data centres in Australia.
• Provide technical leadership and governance for electrical building services design.
• Drive design reviews, calculations, specifications to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Build trusted client relationships and support business development.
• Mentor and develop engineering teams and foster a high-performance culture.
• Contribute to ANZ strategy and capability development.
