Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director with a strong Building Services background to lead major projects in Australia. You will provide senior technical and design leadership, drive project delivery and engage with clients across multidisciplinary teams.

You will manage budgets, coordinate engineers, and pursue opportunities for growth while reporting to sector leadership. The role offers hybrid work arrangements and the chance to influence building engineering at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire/Hydraulics Engineering with 20+ years in Australia.
• Chartered Engineer with registrations.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary building services projects.
• Strong client engagement and business development track record.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Established network in Australian building engineering market.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical and design leadership across major Building Engineering projects, maintaining quality, programme, budget and client outcomes.
• Lead project teams and be responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of projects.
• Work directly with clients to understand needs, build relationships and provide engineering and design solutions.
• Lead design management, technical reviews and project delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
• Support business development and win work through client engagement, proposals and presentations.
• Identify opportunities to grow AECOM’s services with existing and new clients across locations.
• Provide commercial oversight across projects, including budgets, pricing, contracts and reviews.
