AECOM is seeking a Technical Director in Building Engineering to provide senior technical and design leadership across major projects. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, engage with clients to understand needs, and drive successful delivery while growing opportunities for the business.

The role involves financial oversight, design management, and collaboration with senior leaders across AECOM, with hybrid work options and opportunities across multiple Australian cities.

Qualifications

• Civil/Structural engineering degree with 20+ years of building services experience in Australia.
• Chartered Engineer and relevant registrations.
• Experience in senior technical, project or business leadership roles.
• Strong commercial understanding including project budgets and financial performance.
• Proven client engagement, business development and negotiations.
• Leadership of high-performing project teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical and design leadership across major Building Engineering projects.
• Lead project teams and manage delivery of a portfolio of projects.
• Engage directly with clients to understand needs and provide design solutions.
• Lead design management, technical reviews and multidisciplinary delivery.
• Support business development through client engagement, proposals and interviews.
• Oversee budgets, pricing, contracts and financial performance.
• Develop and coach high-performing teams and support career progression.
• Collaborate with senior leaders on resource planning and growth of Building Engineering.
