Job summary

AECOM Melbourne is seeking a Technical Director – Electrical Engineer (Building Services) to lead complex building services projects with a focus on health, education, transport, and data centres across Australia. The role offers hybrid work arrangements and leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates will have 20+ years of consultancy experience, Chartered registration (CPEng), and deep knowledge of Australian codes, standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electrical with 20+ years of consultancy experience delivering complex building services engineering projects.
• Chartership with Engineers Australia (CPEng) or eligible for state registration.
• Extensive technical expertise in electrical building services design with knowledge of Australian codes, standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging clients, contractors, consultants, and senior project teams.
• Proven leadership in project and commercial management, leading multi-disciplinary teams on high-profile projects.
• Australian Citizenship and eligible for Defence Security Clearance are highly preferred; existing clearance is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary building projects across key markets in Australia.
• Provide technical leadership and governance across electrical building services design, ensuring compliance with Australian codes and standards.
• Drive innovation and excellence in project execution by reviewing design calculations, specifications, models, and documentation.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships and support business development with a strong project pipeline.
• Mentor and develop multidisciplinary services engineering team, fostering technical excellence and high-performance culture.
• Strengthen Building Services capability across ANZ and contribute to local and national strategy.
