Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director level Electrical Engineer to lead our national Building Engineering Team in Australia, based in Sydney or Perth. You will manage a large multi-disciplinary group and contribute to landmark projects across ANZ.

The role requires chartership, 20+ years consultancy experience, and strong leadership. You will drive technical excellence, governance, and client relationships while advancing innovative building services design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with 20+ years consultancy experience delivering complex building services projects.
• Chartership with Engineers Australia (CPEng) or equivalent registration; eligible for state level professional registration (RPEQ/RPEV).
• Extensive technical expertise in discipline design with knowledge of Australian codes and standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management with clients, contractors and senior teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multi-disciplinary building projects across health, education, defence, transport, commercial, aviation, sports and data centres in Australia.
• Provide technical leadership and governance for electrical building services design per Australian codes and standards.
• Drive innovation and excellence by reviewing design calculations, models, and documentation to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships and support business development with a strong project pipeline.
• Mentor and develop multidisciplinary services engineers to foster technical excellence and high performance.
• Strengthen AECOM’s Building Services capability across ANZ and contribute to strategy and capability development.
