Job summary

Anduril Industries in Sydney, Australia seeks a Staff Mechanical Product Engineer (Platform) to act as the primary design engineering presence on the production floor. You will bridge design intent with production execution, drive improvements, and resolve issues with deep technical judgment.

The role requires extensive experience in defense/aerospace manufacturing, MRB processes, GD&T, ISO 9001, and multi-site coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 4 years in defense, aerospace or automotive.
• Mechanical design and analysis capability to justify use-as-is and repair dispositions.
• Experience on a production floor in a hands-on engineering capacity.
• Strong understanding of MRB processes, nonconformance management, and engineering disposition.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems and production quality processes.
• Ability to interpret GD&T drawings and explain design intent to production personnel.
• Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations or transfers between facilities.
• Working knowledge of configuration management, ECO processes, and PLM tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Australian Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary design engineering point of contact on the production floor for assigned programs and product lines.
• Represent the design authority at MRB, working with Quality and Manufacturing to minimise hold time without compromising safety.
• Resolve production blockers and drawing interpretation issues in real time while applying engineering judgement.
• Provide rapid-response engineering support and RCA to Production, Quality, and Test for nonconformance resolution.
• Identify and elevate systemic design issues to core Design Engineering teams with data and recommended actions.
• Collaborate on translating design intent to production across multiple product variants and sites.
