Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Mechanical Product Engineer (Production) to bridge design intent and manufacturing on the Sydney production floor. You will own day-to-day engineering support for assigned programs, drive MRB dispositions, and resolve process-blockers with strong technical judgement.

You will collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain and Program Management, perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analyses, and use 3D CAD tools to support production changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Hands-on engineering capacity on a production floor.
• Strong understanding of MRB processes, nonconformance management, and engineering disposition.
• Experience with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality management systems and related production quality processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T, engineering drawings, specifications, and interpreting design intent for production personnel.
• Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations or production transfers between facilities.
• Working knowledge of configuration management, ECO processes, and PLM tools.
• Ability to obtain an Australian Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary design engineering point of contact on the production floor for assigned programs and product lines.
• Triage and disposition MRB actions day-to-day; participate in MRB meetings and drive resolution timelines.
• Resolve production process-blockers, design ambiguities, and drawing interpretation issues in real time.
• Provide rapid-response engineering support to Production, Quality, and Test teams for nonconformance resolution and repair dispositions.
• Identify and elevate systemic design issues to core Design Engineering teams with clear problem statements and recommended actions.
• Perform and review mechanical design analyses—structural stress, fatigue life, thermal, and tolerance stackup—to support MRB dispositions and use-as-is justifications.
• Utilize 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA) to evaluate rework paths and generate/revise drawings for production.
• Apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to assess nonconformances and recommend repair or rework methods.
• Bridge design intent translation across multiple product versions and sites; develop repair manuals and engineering disposition guides.
