Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a people-focused Operations Manager to lead the ferry network across nine crossings in NSW. The role supervises around 85 employees and four supervisors, ensuring safety, reliability and customer-focused service.

You will oversee 24/7 roster planning, address customer enquiries, and collaborate with maintenance and external providers to meet service delivery objectives. The role is based across Windsor and other locations, with regular travel to ferry sites in NSW.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, reliable and efficient delivery of ferry operations across nine ferry crossings throughout NSW.
• Provide leadership and support to four Supervisors and approximately 85 employees, ensuring safety and operational requirements are met.
• Foster a strong safety culture and lead in managing operational safety, incidents, emergencies and service disruptions.
• Oversee 24/7 workforce planning and rostering to ensure adequate coverage across all ferry operations.
• Manage customer complaints and stakeholder enquiries, delivering professional and customer-focused outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Ferry Maintenance Management Team, External Maintenance providers and other operational managers to achieve service delivery objectives.
• Monitor operational performance and ensure compliance with maritime legislation, policies and requirements.
• Manage and coordinate HR issues, industrial relations and staff development & training.
