Job summary

KBR is seeking an Export Controls & Compliance Lead in Australia to drive governance, risk and compliance for high-profile defence and security projects. You will collaborate with the Commercial Director and project teams to manage licensing, classifications and control regimes across multiple jurisdictions.

The role requires deep ITAR/FMS knowledge, a relevant degree or substantial defence experience, and the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of ITAR, FMS and other export-controls frameworks in AU/US and other jurisdictions.
• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent Defence industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing global export controls activities, risks and issues.
• Proven ability to support internal/external customer requirements and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and problem solve with initiative.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Australian Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Represent the organisation at global internal and regional external forums related to export controls and compliance.
• Identify licensing requirements and risks for projects and manage authorisations for timely delivery.
• Provide advice on classifications, regulations, and commodity codes for project products.
• Support shipments and re-transfer of export-controlled material to ensure compliance.
• Implement processes to track and improve performance and maintain traceability of licence conditions.
• Develop and deliver training on export controls and act as knowledge hub.
• Support digitisation and automation of export controls processes.
