Job summary

KBR Australia is seeking an Export Controls & Compliance Lead to influence governance across defence projects. You will lead international trade controls, assess licensing needs and manage authorisations for global initiatives, working with the Commercial Director.

The role requires ITAR/FMS expertise, a degree or equivalent Defence experience, and the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Commerce or similar discipline or 5+ years in Defence or related industry.
• Extensive ITAR/FMS knowledge in Australia, US and other jurisdictions.
• Experience managing global export controls activities and third party retransfers.
• Ability to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent the organisation at global forums on export controls and compliance.
• Identify licensing requirements and manage project authorisations.
• Advise on classifications, regulations and commodity codes for project products.
• Support shipments and re-transfer of export-controlled material for licence compliance.
• Track licence conditions and ensure traceability across the organisation.
• Develop and deliver training on export controls and act as knowledge point.
• Assist digitisation and automation of export controls processes.
