Job summary

TOIM Technology is expanding its Newcastle sales team and seeks a Business Development Manager focused on new business. You will own the full sales cycle from first contact to signed agreement, targeting SMB and mid-market clients in the Newcastle and Hunter region.

You’ll build multi-channel outreach, engage decision-makers, and develop tailored solutions with support from presales. A hunter mindset and track record of closing new logos are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of B2B new business sales experience in IT/services.
• Proven track record of acquiring new clients and hitting revenue targets.
• Confidence in cold outreach and resilience.
• Strong consultative selling, asking the right questions and selling outcomes.
• Ability to build and present proposals and negotiate.
• Self-motivated with own pipeline management.
• Experience with CRM platforms (HubSpot or similar) and LinkedIn Navigator.
• Existing Newcastle/Hunter business network is highly regarded.
• Valid NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the region.
• Willingness to obtain Working With Children Check and National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and win new business across Newcastle, Maitland, Hunter.
• Build and run multi-channel outreach (phone, email, LinkedIn, referrals, events, in-person).
• Engage business owners and executives to uncover pain points and objectives.
• Conduct discovery meetings and scope tailored solutions with the tech team.
• Create compelling proposals and commercial offers.
• Negotiate and close managed services agreements (typically 36 months).
• Manage your pipeline in the CRM with forecasting and activity reporting.
• Develop referral partnerships with accountants and associations.
• Represent TOIM at local business events and industry functions.
• Sell across Managed IT, Private Cloud, Cyber Security, Networking, M365, UC, Telecommunication.
