TOIM Technology is expanding its Newcastle sales team and seeks a Business Development Manager focused on new business. You will own the full sales cycle from first contact to signed agreement, targeting SMB and mid-market clients in the Newcastle and Hunter region.
You’ll build multi-channel outreach, engage decision-makers, and develop tailored solutions with support from presales. A hunter mindset and track record of closing new logos are essential.
TOIM Technology is a rapidly growing IT and cloud services partner headquartered in Tamworth, with offices in Newcastle, Dubbo, and Moree. Due to significant growth in our Newcastle region, we’re expanding our sales team and looking for a driven Business Development Manager to win new clients and capitalise on opportunities. Toim has been recognised as one of Australia's fastest growing tech companies 5 years running.
This recognition comes from our relentless pursuit of excellence, our commitment to doing what others won’t, and staying true to our ideologies. We’re a people-first team with a winning mindset — and we’ve helped pioneer technology in remote Australia, including one of the few fully redundant cloud platforms and network aggregations outside metro markets.
If you’re a hunter who thrives on opening doors, building relationships with decision-makers, and closing new logos, you’ll be selling industry-leading innovation right here in regional Australia.
As our Business Development Manager, your focus is new business. You will identify, pursue, and win new clients across the Newcastle and Hunter region — owning the full sales cycle from first contact through discovery, proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement.
This is a hunting role, not an account management role. Your success is measured by new logos won, new monthly recurring revenue secured, and the quality of the pipeline you build.
Reporting to the CRO and MD of the company, you’ll be backed by our technical consultants, presales support, and a solution stack that competes with the best in the market.
Prospect and win new business with SMB and mid-market organisations across Newcastle, Maitland, and the Hunter
Build and run multi-channel outreach — phone, email, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, referrals, networking events, and face-to-face visits
Engage business owners, CEOs, CFOs, Operations Managers, and IT Managers to uncover pain points and business objectives
Run discovery meetings and work with our technical team to scope tailored solutions
Build and present compelling proposals, commercial offers, and business cases
Negotiate and close managed services agreements, typically on 36-month terms
Own and manage your pipeline in the CRM with accurate forecasting and activity reporting
Develop referral partnerships with accountants, industry associations, and complementary vendors
Represent TOIM at local business events, chambers of commerce, and industry functions
Sell across TOIM’s solution stack — Managed IT, Private Cloud, Cyber Security, Networking, Microsoft 365, Unified Communications, and Telecommunications
3+ years of B2B new business sales experience, ideally in managed IT services, telecommunications, cloud, or managed print
A proven track record of winning new clients and hitting or exceeding revenue targets
Confidence in cold outreach and the resilience to keep pushing through rejection
Strong consultative selling skills — you ask the right questions and sell outcomes, not products
Ability to build and present proposals and hold your own in commercial negotiations
Self-motivated and disciplined in managing your own pipeline and activity
Experience with CRM platforms (HubSpot or similar) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
Existing network across the Newcastle and Hunter business community is highly regarded
Valid NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the region
Willingness to obtain a Working With Children Check and National Police Check
You won’t be handed a book of accounts to babysit. You’ll be joining TOIM’s Newcastle team at an exciting time — our growth in the region means a wide-open market for the right person. You’ll have the solutions, the support, and the backing of leadership, and you’ll be genuinely rewarded for every client you bring through the door.
If you’re driven by winning new business and want to build something in a growing regional market, we want to hear from you.
We’d love to know:
The biggest new client you’ve personally won and how you won it
How you would approach building a pipeline from scratch in the Hunter region
