Job summary

The role requires 1+ year experience or recent graduate in medical sciences, strong typing (80 WPM), clear communication, and Australian work rights.

Join our caring team at Harbour Neurology as a full-time Medical Receptionist in our North Sydney office. In this essential role, you will ensure our patients receive specialist medical care and a warm and professional experience from the moment they enter our practice.

What you will be doing

Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and courteous manner

Answer incoming telephone calls and emails to schedule appointments, manage patient records and answer patient inquiries

Receive confidential medical information from patients and updating our medical records system

Ensure patient medical records are complete before appointments

Invoice patients after their appointments and booking future appointments

Maintain and organise our welcoming reception space to create a positive first impression

Liaise with insurers to arrange appointments and invoicing

What we are looking for

A recent graduate or final-year student in medical science, a related science, or an allied health discipline, OR a minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical receptionist

Clear, articulate pronunciation suitable for elderly patients

Minimum typing speed of 80 WPM with accuracy with attention to detail

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers

Willingness to learn medical procedures and usage of medical practice management software

A friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanour

Four or five days per week 8:30am to 5:00pm

Australian work rights are required for this position

Experience with PRODA is highly valued
