Job summary

Australian Unity Limited is hiring in-home carers to help older Australians live independently at home in Townsville and surrounding areas. You will support clients with domestic tasks, personal care, and companionship, across 3–4 weekdays with 6+ hours per day. Entry-level or experienced carers are welcome.

A driver’s licence and own car are required, with paid training and travel time benefits. Compensation starts at $34.80–$36.59 per hour plus super, with 1.33 per km travel allowance and

Qualifications

• Holder of Australian driver’s licence and own comprehensively insured car.
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours per day between 8am–6pm across 3–4 weekdays.
• Passionate about in-home aged care and supporting independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and support to clients in their homes.
• Assist with domestic tasks (cleaning, laundry, meal prep) and personal care as needed.
• Offer companionship and daytime support to older Australians 65+.

About You

• Live and can support our customers in Townsville and surrounding areas
• Hold an Australian Driver’s Licence and own comprehensively insured car (no international licence/shared vehicles)
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours per day within the hours of 8am – 6pm, ideally across 3–4 weekdays (some weekend rosters may be available for experienced Carers)
• Able to complete our 2-week paid training program
• Passionate about working in in-home care, with a focus on aged care

What We Offer

• Open to entry-level and experienced carers
• $34.80 - $36.59 p/h + super
• Paid travel time + $1.33 p/km allowance + company phone
• Contract:
• New Entrants: Casual contract
• Experienced Carers (12+ months experience and/or relevant qualification): 30 – 40 hours per fortnight + flex up shifts

As a valued team member, you’ll provide compassionate care and support to clients in their homes.Domestic assistance will form a significant part of your role – this applies to both our entry-level and experienced carers.From helping with household tasks to offering personal support, you’ll make a real difference in people’s lives every day.

• Entry-level: Cleaning, laundry, meal prep and household support
• Experienced: Personal care (showering, toileting, medications), social support and domestic duties
• Most importantly provide companionship and brighten someone’s day
