Job summary

Australian Unity Home Health is hiring an experienced Personal Care Worker to support older Australians at home, focusing on personal care, mobility and domestic assistance. Build meaningful relationships during visits in the Queanbeyan region.

Qualifications

• Insured car (shared/rental cars not permitted).

About the Role

As a Personal Care Worker, you'll support older Australians to remain independent at home through a combination of personal care and domestic assistance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Personal care and mobility support
• Domestic duties including cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
• Social support and companionship
• Promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing

Please note: Domestic assistance is an important part of this role and may form a regular component of customer visits.

About You

We're seeking experienced carers who genuinely enjoy working one-on-one with older people in the community.

To be successful, you will have:

• A minimum of 12 months' experience providing personal care in aged care, disability or hospital settings and/or a qualification in Aged Care, Disability or Home & Community Care
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A passion for supporting older Australians to live independently at home
• A current Australian Driver's Licence (International licence not accepted)
• An insured car (shared/rental cars not permitted)

Availability Requirements

• Live in and can support our customers in Queanbeyan and surrounding areas
• Available to work across the service hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm
• Available to work at least 6 hours per day across a minimum of 3 weekdays
• Commit to our paid 2-week Brilliant@Basics Training Program when you commence
