Job summary

Jet Group in Mackay is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to expand our mining and industrial customer base. This field-focused role involves regular mine-site visits, collaborating with engineering, fabrication and product teams to win new work.

You will identify upcoming projects, understand client challenges and translate conversations into concrete opportunities, while maintaining a strong sales pipeline and delivering growth across our divisions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development, technical sales or account management, preferably within mining or mining services.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify profitable opportunities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills; able to build relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities across existing and prospective customers and markets.
• Build strong relationships with mine-site personnel, procurement teams and key decision-makers.
• Understand customers' operational challenges, upcoming projects, budgets and purchasing requirements.
• Identify opportunities to provide Jet Group's engineering, fabrication, manufacturing and mining products and services.
• Gather market intelligence and communicate qualified opportunities to relevant internal teams.
• Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of profitable business opportunities.
• Follow up quotations and tenders, obtain customer feedback and help convert opportunities into sales.
• Maintain accurate customer information, opportunities and follow-up actions in the CRM system.
• Work towards agreed sales targets and contribute to the ongoing growth of Jet Group.
