Job summary

AECOM in Australia is seeking a Senior Technical Director with a strong Building Structures background to join our national Building Engineering team. You will provide high‑level technical leadership, drive delivery on major projects, manage client relationships and help win new work.

Based in any major city (Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth or Adelaide), you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, shape design approaches, oversee budgets and contracts, and mentor the next generation of engineers in

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 20+ years in the building services industry in Australia.
Chartered Engineer and relevant registrations.
Extensive experience in building engineering with multidisciplinary projects.
Proven experience in a senior technical, project or business leadership role.
Strong commercial understanding, including budgets, programmes, contracts and financial performance.

Responsibilities

Provide senior technical and design leadership across major Building Engineering projects, focusing on quality, programme, budget and client outcomes.
Lead project teams and take responsibility for delivering a portfolio of projects.
Engage with clients to understand needs, build relationships and provide practical engineering solutions.
Lead design management, technical reviews and project delivery across disciplines.
Support business development through client engagement, proposals and presentations.
Identify opportunities to grow AECOM’s services with existing and new clients.
