Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Research and Impact Acceleration Lead to define vision and multi-year plans for accelerating research in the early breeding pipeline. You will drive faster learning, higher quality evidence, and better product delivery by shaping the enables technologies and adoption strategies across crops and regions.

You will lead cross-functional teams, set standards for hypothesis-driven design, and define metrics for cycle time, genetic gain, and cost, while partnering with universities

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Plant or Animal Breeding, Quantitative or Statistical Genetics, Data Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding technologies and genomics.
• Proven ability to collaborate across regions and functions to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and multi-year strategy for research acceleration in the early breeding pipeline.
• Set standards for hypothesis-driven design and evidence-based decisions.
• Shape enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding and digital workflows.
• Lead adoption strategies and change management across crops and regions.
• Define and report acceleration value metrics (cycle time, genetic gain, cost).
• Provide technical and product knowledge to the Capability Center and focus areas.
• Contribute to Global Breeding strategies and Long-Range Plan.
• Engage with universities to attract talent and build partnerships.
• Connect research acceleration to downstream product and supply decisions.
• Ensure HS&E, compliance, DEI, and human rights are prioritized.
