Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team. Hybrid role; own reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics infrastructure on AWS. Build CI/CD for Glue, Athena, and S3; design observability and security; mentor engineers and contribute to architecture decisions.

You will work at the intersection of platform and data, focusing on reducing toil and improving developer experience while ensuring SLAs and scalable data solutions.

Competenze

• 5+ years in DevOps/platform engineering or SRE with at least 2 years in data engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services (S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch).
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform / CDK).
• Strong CI/CD experience across GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS).
• Experience designing observability for data and platform services.

Mansioni

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and related data infra.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using IaC (Terraform / CDK).
• Own observability stack: metrics, logs, alerts for data pipelines.
• Develop self-service DataOps tooling and templates for production pipelines.
• Manage container infrastructure for data ingestion microservices.
• Operate workflow environments (MWAA/Airflow) including upgrades and scaling.
• Build and maintain AWS Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for data lake ingestion.
• Drive security practices: IAM, Secrets Manager, network segmentation.
