Job summary

Proofpoint in Cordoba, Argentina is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role covers reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities, building cloud infrastructure (AWS-first), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling to empower data teams.

You will own AWS Glue, Athena, S3 operations, implement observability, and mentor engineers while collaborating with data scientists and security.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE with at least 2 years in data engineering.
Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, and CDK/CFN.
Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, S3 lifecycle and security features.
Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform and/or CDK).
Strong CI/CD experience across GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.
Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).
Proven ability to design observability for data and platform services.
Excellent communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and related data infra.
Build and manage AWS-based infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/CDK).
Own observability: metrics, logs, alerts to ensure reliability and fast incident response.
Develop self-service DataOps tooling and reusable pipeline templates.
Mentor engineers and lead reviews on DevOps and data engineering practices.
