Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment, with LatAm coverage and on-call rotation.

You will own day-to-day operations, optimize Snowflake, manage ingestion pipelines (Fivetran/HVR, Argo on Kubernetes), develop dbt models, ensure data quality, security, and observability, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Strong Snowflake data platform experience including design, performance, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL skills and extensive dbt experience for transformation, testing and deployment.
• Experience with managed ingestion tools (Fivetran or HVR) and custom pipelines.
• Hands-on AWS data services experience, especially S3 and event/file ingestion.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or similar orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation.
• Knowledge of data modeling, schema evolution, and data quality.
• Experience with observability, logging, and incident-management.
• Ability to lead incidents, perform root-cause analysis and drive improvements.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken English; availability for PT business hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform service tower during LatAm coverage window.
• Operate and improve Snowflake production and non-production environments.
• Administer data access with least-privilege and audit-ready practices.
• Manage data ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines.
• Design, build, and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations and govern retention and access.
• Coordinate with Cloud/DevOps for Argo Workflows and Kubernetes workloads.
• Define and improve data quality and observability standards.
• Expand end-to-end monitoring and lineage with tools like dbt, Splunk, and Synq.
• Lead or support major data incidents and post-incident reviews.
• Support Tableau Cloud operations where needed.
• Identify and deliver standardization and automation improvements.
• Create runbooks and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure effective handoffs.
• Participate in on-call rotation outside staffed hours.
