Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will own day-to-day operations, troubleshoot complex issues, and coordinate with LatAm coverage.

Responsibilities include Snowflake tuning, data ingestion with Fivetran/HVR, dbt transformations, Argo Workflows on Kubernetes, and collaboration with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and stakeholders. Strong SQL, Python, and data modeling are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Advanced SQL with dbt for transformation, testing and lineage.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience; data modeling and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with Fivetran or HVR and custom ingestion pipelines.
• AWS data services (S3) and event/file-based ingestion patterns.
• Argo Workflows on Kubernetes for data workloads.
• Python or similar language for data engineering and automation.
• Strong data modeling, dependencies, schema evolution and data quality.
• Observability practices: logging, alerting, incident management.
• Ability to lead incidents, perform root-cause analyses and drive improvements.
• Strong written and verbal English; able to work with client stakeholders.
• Availability to work 9:00–18:00 PT and participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform during LatAm coverage window.
• Operate Snowflake production and non-production environments with monitoring and sizing.
• Administer data access with least-privilege controls and auditing.
• Manage ingestion across Fivetran/HVR and custom pipelines; handle failures and backfills.
• Design and maintain dbt models across RAW, CURATED, CONSUMPTION with tests and lineage.
• Support S3 data-lake operations, lifecycle, access patterns, and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate Argo Workflows and Kubernetes workloads with Cloud/DevOps.
• Define data quality and observability standards; implement runbooks and alerts.
• Lead or support major data incidents; conduct post-incident reviews.
• Mentor engineers; ensure effective handoffs across the distributed team.
• Participate in Data Platform on-call rotation; support Tableau Cloud as needed.
