Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will own the data platform during LatAm coverage, manage ingestion pipelines, dbt models, and ensure data quality and observability.

You will collaborate across Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and business stakeholders, mentoring engineers and supporting Tableau Cloud integrations as needed. Flexible work arrangements are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including design, performance, access patterns and production troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong dbt experience for transformation, testing, lineage, and controlled deployment.
• Experience operating managed ingestion tools such as Fivetran or HVR and supporting custom pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services, particularly S3 and event/file-based ingestion patterns.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or equivalent workflow orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar language for data engineering and automation.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, pipeline dependencies, schema evolution, and data quality.
• Experience with observability, logging, alerting, and incident-management practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform during LatAm coverage window, including day-to-day operations and escalation.
• Operate and optimize Snowflake production/non-production environments, including warehouse sizing and performance monitoring.
• Administer data access with least-privilege and audit-ready practices.
• Design, build, and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers with CI/CD practices.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate with Cloud/DevOps for Argo/Kubernetes data workloads and on-call rotation.
• Define data quality and observability standards including freshness, nulls, and referential integrity checks.
• Lead incident resolution and root-cause analysis to preventive actions across ingestion, orchestration, Snowflake, and Tableau.
