Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in a hybrid capacity. You will own reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities, building AWS-based infrastructure, CI/CD, and DevOps tooling to accelerate data product delivery.

You will design and operate data pipelines with AWS Glue, Athena, and S3, focusing on security, observability, and scalable architecture while mentoring teammates and driving best practices across

Competenze

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE with at least 2 years in data engineering.
• Deep AWS core services expertise: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, CloudFormation/CDK.
• Hands-on with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, and S3 lifecycle/encryption.
• IaC experience with Terraform and/or CDK.
• Strong CI/CD experience across modern tooling.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS/K8s).
• Proven observability design for data/platform services.

Mansioni

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and related data infra.
• Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/AWS CDK).
• Own observability stack: metrics, logs, alerts to ensure SLA and fast incident response.
• Develop DataOps tools and reusable templates for data engineers.
• Manage container and compute infra (Docker, ECS/EKS, Lambda).
• Operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions).
• Build AWS Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale data ingestion/transformation.
• Drive security best practices: Secrets, least privilege IAM, network segmentation, compliance.
• Collaborate with data teams to translate requirements into scalable infra.
• Lead incident response and perform post-mortems; mentor junior engineers.
