Proofpoint seeks a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform. Hybrid role focused on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities.

You’ll build and maintain AWS-first infrastructure, CI/CD, and DevOps tooling enabling data teams to ship high-quality data products faster. You will design and operate pipelines using AWS Glue, Athena, and S3, with strong emphasis on observability, security, and developer experience.

Competenze

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability with data engineering exposure.
• Strong expertise with AWS core services (S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS).
• Hands-on with AWS data services Glue, Athena, and S3 lifecycles.
• Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform and/or CDK).
• Solid CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalents.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
• Ability to design observability systems (metrics, logs, tracing, alerts).
• Excellent communication and ability to simplify trade-offs for diverse stakeholders.

Mansioni

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data infra and AWS Glue ETL jobs.
• Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform, CDK).
• Own the observability stack with metrics, logs, and alerts for SLA compliance.
• Develop self-service DataOps tooling and reusable pipeline templates.
• Manage container and compute infra (Docker, ECS/EKS, Lambda).
• Operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA, Airflow, Step Functions).
• Create and maintain Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale data ingestion.
• Enforce security best practices across the data platform (Secrets, IAM, network).
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and security teams on scalable infra.
• Lead incident response and post-mortems for data platform outages.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in architecture decisions.
