Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivering data pipelines and analytics capabilities.

You will build cloud infrastructure and CI/CD tooling to empower data engineers to ship high-quality data products rapidly and safely. You will design and operate data workflows using AWS Glue, Athena, and S3, with a strong emphasis on observability, security, and developer experience.

Competenze

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE, with at least 2 years in data engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, CloudFormation/CDK.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue ETL, Athena, S3 lifecycle and encryption.
• Proficiency with IaC tools: Terraform and/or CDK.
• Strong CI/CD experience with pipelines in GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
• Observability design: metrics, logging, tracing, alerting for data/platform services.

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment of data infra.
• Build and manage AWS-based infrastructure using IaC (Terraform, CDK).
• Own observability stack for data pipelines—metrics, logs, alerts, SLAs.
• Develop DataOps self-service tooling and templates for data engineers.
• Operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA, Airflow, Step Functions).
• Lead incident response for data platform outages and post-mortems.
• Mentor junior engineers in DevOps and data engineering practices.
