Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Research and Impact Acceleration Lead to define and lead the vision, strategy, and multi-year plan for accelerating research and impact across the early breeding pipeline. You will mobilize the organization to turn speed of learning, evidence quality, and iteration capacity into a durable competitive advantage in how the early pipeline operates.

The role requires leading cross-functional partnerships, shaping enabling technologies, and guiding adoption of innovative practices

Qualifications

• PhD degree or MS degree in Plant or Animal Breeding, Quantitative or Statistical Genetics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding technologies, advanced analytics and information technologies, genomics, and/or quantitative genetics.
• Strong ability to collaborate and build cross-functional partnerships to solve complex business and technical problems across regions and functions.
• Demonstrated ability to embrace and role-model leadership attributes within the Capability Center and with peers across Bayer Crop Science.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and multi-year strategy for research acceleration across the early breeding pipeline, framing where faster learning creates durable competitive advantage.
• Establish how the organization formulates and answers research questions by setting standards for hypothesis-driven design and evidence.
• Shape the enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding, genomics, phenotyping, analytics, automation, and digital workflows.
• Lead the adoption strategy that institutionalizes proven innovation across crops and regions at scale.
• Own the impact narrative and its metrics for cycle time, genetic gain, cost, quality, and adoption.
