Job summary

RateHawk is seeking an experienced US Accountant & Tax Specialist to join the team remotely and support a US-based company with bookkeeping, tax preparation, and financial reporting. You will work during standard US Eastern Time business hours and collaborate with a US team.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop and ProSeries Desktop, plus a solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations. Excellent English communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with QuickBooks Desktop in a professional accounting environment.
• Hands-on tax return preparation experience for US individuals and/or businesses.
• Strong understanding of US federal and state tax regulations.
• Comfortable working remotely across time zones (EST hours).

Responsibilities

• Manage company and client bookkeeping using QuickBooks Desktop.
• Prepare individual and business US tax returns.
• Complete and file state sales tax filings.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger entries.
• Review records for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain organized financial documentation for tax and audit purposes.
