Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Customer Success Engineer for Latin America to support elite AI research labs remotely. The role emphasizes debugging, triage, and collaboration with product and engineering teams to improve reliability and user experience.

You will work across our AI + SaaS stack, investigate issues end-to-end, reproduce bugs, and create runbooks to reduce repeat problems while communicating with clients with clarity and empathy.

Qualifications

• Debug web applications end-to-end and reproduce issues.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field from a top-tier institution or equivalent startup experience.
• Experience building or supporting modern web applications (React, Node, Flask, Next.js) or similar stacks (2–5 years).
• Comfortable with AI systems; experience with LLMs, agents, or generative models.
• Experience exploring behavior of AI tools (fine-tuning, prompt chains, or chain-of-thought debugging).
• Familiarity with AI APIs or agent frameworks (LangChain, AutoGPT) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigate talent-reported issues end-to-end, reproduce bugs, identify root causes, and separate UX friction, edge cases, and defects.
• Debug across our AI + SaaS stack using telemetry, logs, network inspection, and database queries.
• Triage with sound judgment; escalate true engineering issues and resolve others via configuration or guidance.
• Surface systemic patterns and product risks to engineering and product leadership.
• Create clear documentation and runbooks to reduce repeat issues and speed resolution.
• Communicate with precision, professionalism, and empathy.
